Mid-October Update

I know. I know. It's back to the chill in the air…frost on the pumpkin…that time of year again. The arrival of fall is always a blessed event to us Ducks. It signals not only the change in seasons (certainly that which drives all retailers it seems), but also the approach of the holidays…and absolute Duck Craziness. We love it. Fear it. Respect it. And always hope that we all make it through New Years in one piece. It's our Y2K challenge every year.

But before I go on, let me give you three words to live by:

Coffee.
Coffee.
Coffee.

In case you haven't heard…or visited yet, our Online CoffeeHouse is now open. All you have to do to enjoy your favorite Duck Soup coffees is to go to the CoffeeHouse icon on the home page, click…and get ready to brew. We have had a great response so far, and hope to see you soon. Be sure to take a moment to browse the How to Order page, as you not only have a choice of grinds, but also whether you swing by our luxurious corporate offices above Wild Birds Unlimited to pick up your order, or have us ship it to you.

We will soon be adding other rooms (departments) to our online store, and will certainly keep you advised of the Duck Happenings.

Yes, we know there is also one driving question on the lips of many of our friends and customers:

When is Duck Soup going to re-open?

Great question. We’re getting there!

Looking from our current "offices" you can see the "front" entrance area to Duck Soup with windows in place -- ahh, progress!

As you can see by our latest photos (or if you've driven by the store lately), progress on the building is moving forward every day. Windows and doors are here, internal wiring is beginning to be installed…it is very much one step at a time. As was mentioned in our last update, we are looking to begin our store buildout in just a few weeks. This will move us solidly toward our goal of having a "soft opening" in early December. We are very excited!

This view from the parking lot shows the open end of building "B", and the elevator tower in scaffolding.

From across Rte. 20 you can see that the windows are in and the walls are being wrapped in Tyvek brand weather seal.

Back to the Online Thing for a moment:

We would love your input on other departments you would like to see us open Online. It is our ongoing Duck Quest to make Duck Soup Online a viable alternative for our customers. The more we hear from you, the better we can do. Please share your thoughts with us.

Oh, yeah.

We are still in the process of rounding out the Duck Team for our reopening. If you are interested in joining the flock, please give us a call at 978.443.DUCK. Believe me, working with us is all that it's quacked up to be.

Hope you are enjoying the lovely fall weather. Chat with you towards the end of the month..
