QuackQuackQuack.com NewsAugust 20, 1999Greetings. With the dog days of mid-summer safely behind us, its back to making progress as usual. Pierre is on vacation (at last!) and I am able to get a few things done around the office. Just a few is good though, isnt it? As you can see by the construction when you drive by, we are definitely making progress. The second floor slabs are in place, and soon it will be time to put up the roofing girders, and then wall in the building. It is great to see this progress being made and is encouraging for our fall opening.
Our current timeline looks like this: We are looking to begin our in-earnest interior build out right around the first week of October. We have already begun warehousing inventory, and figure we will be able to work quickly on the actual build out. Pierre and I have been quite busy reconnecting with vendors, selecting fixtures, and doing design after design of store layouts. We are getting antsy, and know that the first of October is just a few weeks away. Once the build out is completed, we hope to have a quick turnaround on our Certificate of Occupancy (cant do a thing without it), and look to have our "soft" opening as close to mid-November as possible. Of course, this can all change but all looks good at this point. We had a great Mill Village Watch Dog Committee meeting last Thursday (August 12th) and we will be seeing these tenants definitely returning: Garber Travel, Choices, Electric Gramophone, and Kens Trains. Also joining us in Mill Village will be 1-Hour Photo (currently in Rugged Bear Plaza) and Oishi Japanese Cuisine. There are numerous other tenants who have signed letters of intent, and we will be please to announce them once leases have been signed. Are you ready for Coffee? As we mentioned in early July, we are hard at work fine tuning our e-commerce Coffee House online coffee shopping at Duck Soup. The shopping site looks great. We are currently reviewing and tweaking the site, and are looking to roll it out shortly after Labor Day weekend. If you are on our email list, you will be notified in advance of the exact roll out date. If you have only looked at the site and never logged on with your name and email address, I encourage you to do so -- use our Contact page. This is a great way to stay informed as to breaking news and special Duck Soup events. Be well, and enjoy the rest of your summer. Richard
